Search engine optimisation

Getting found is the
whole point.

A website nobody finds is just an expensive business card. I've spent 15 years getting businesses found in search — and that experience goes into every site I build, whether or not you ever pay me for SEO.

The honest version

What's included, and what isn't.

Plenty of web designers say "SEO included" and mean they filled in a page title. Here's the actual split.

Included in every website

£595 one-off, no extra charge

  • Proper heading structure, one H1 per page
  • Page titles and meta descriptions written for search
  • Schema markup so search engines understand the business
  • Fast loading — hand-built, no page-builder bloat
  • Mobile-first, because that's where local searches happen
  • Clean internal linking between your pages
  • Sitemap and robots.txt set up correctly
  • Google Search Console connected

The foundations get you a site that can rank. Ongoing SEO is the work of actually climbing — and that depends entirely on your trade, your area and who you're up against.

The work

What ongoing SEO actually involves.

No mystery, no jargon. This is the work, in the order I'd normally do it.

Keyword research

What people in your area actually type when they need what you do — including the searches with buying intent, not just the big obvious ones.

Competitor analysis

Who's ranking above you, what they've got that you haven't, and whether it's realistically beatable. Sometimes the honest answer is no.

A page for each thing

One page can't rank for everything. Each service and each town you work in needs its own page, properly written.

Internal linking

Pages that support each other rank better than pages sitting on their own. This is unglamorous and it works.

Local search

Google Business Profile, consistent business details across directories, and the local signals that decide who shows up in the map results.

Reporting that makes sense

Search Console set up properly, then a plain-English monthly update on what moved, what didn't and what I'm doing next.

Why me

15 years of this, not 15 minutes of AI.

Anyone can generate a website now. Getting it to rank is a different job, and it's the part that decides whether the site pays for itself.

  • 15 years working across design, websites, SEO and content
  • I've ranked sites before — this isn't theory
  • You deal with me directly, not an account manager
  • Every site I build has the foundations in from day one
  • If I don't think SEO is worth it for you, I'll say so

Pricing

Why there's no price on this page.

An electrician in a quiet village and a builder competing across Brighton need completely different amounts of work. Anyone quoting SEO off a price list before looking at your situation is guessing.

So: tell me what you do and where, I'll look at where you currently rank and who you're up against, and then I'll quote you properly — or tell you it isn't worth the money.

Check where I rank

No charge for the initial look.

Where do you stand?

Find out where you actually rank.

Tell me your business and the work you want to be found for. I'll look at where you currently sit, who's above you and what it would take to get past them — then tell you honestly whether it's worth doing.

Tell me about your business

No obligation. I'll personally take a look and get back to you. Your details are only used to reply — see the privacy policy.
